Langstaff joins SRA board

David Langstaff, former Veridian Corp. chief executive officer, was appointed to the board of directors of SRA International Inc.

David Langstaff, former Veridian Corp. chief executive officer, was appointed to the board of directors of SRA International Inc. of Fairfax, Va., SRA officials announced today.

"David Langstaff brings a rare blend of corporate finance expertise, business acumen and direct knowledge of our industry. His extensive experience will be a significant asset to SRA," said Ernst Volgenau, SRA chairman and CEO.

Langstaff was president, chief executive officer and a member of the board of directors of Arlington, Va.-based Veridian Corp. from 1995 to 2003, when it was acquired by General Dynamics Corp. of Falls Church, Va. From 1984 to 1995, Langstaff held senior executive positions at Veridian predecessor companies.

Veridian specialized in national security programs, primarily for the intelligence community, the Defense Department and other government agencies involved in homeland security.

During Langstaff's tenure as CEO, the company's annual sales increased from approximately $100 million to $1.2 billion. In June 2002, Langstaff led Veridian's initial public offering. The company's stock increased nearly 120 percent in the 14 months that Veridian was a publicly traded company.

SRA provides information technology services and solutions to clients in national security, civil government and health care and public health. The company employs 3,100 people and had revenue of $518 million in 2003. The company is ranked No. 32 on the 2003 Washington Technology Top 100 list, which measures federal government contracting.
