Tier Technologies Inc. has won a $4.7 million contract renewal from Wisconsin to continue building the state's unemployment insurance benefits system, the company announced this week.
Under the contract, Tier of Walnut Creek, Calif., will continue to provide assistance, such as requirements and gap analysis, and services for the Wisconsin unemployment insurance benefits system. Tier is using software from Curam Software Inc. of Dublin, Ireland.
The contract, which began this month and runs through June 2005, includes an option for an additional 15 months and replaces an earlier Tier contract worth $600,000.
To develop a methodology for implementing Curam software, Tier worked closely with the Wisconsin Department of Workforce Development and Adaptive Team Collaboration Inc., St. Paul, Minn., a Curam partner. The methodology can be used in unemployment insurance systems and other areas, such as health and human services or pensions, Tier said.
Tier also has built unemployment insurance systems in New Jersey and Minnesota.
Tier Technologies, a provider of business and information technology consulting systems design and systems integration, has more than 760 employees and annual sales of $127 million, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
