Input creates consulting practice

Government information technology research firm Input Inc. has started a consulting practice, which will provide procurement support, business development, communications and legislative advocacy strategies to companies seeking work with the federal government.

The new unit complements the Reston, Va., company's market research services for government contractors, said Input President Peter Cunningham. The consulting practice will be led by Tom Sisti, a veteran of government and private-sector IT initiatives.

"With Tom, we intend to grow a broad consulting practice," Cunningham said. "Tom's background is virtually unmatched in the consulting arena."

Sisti has been named vice president of consulting, and will assemble the unit's staff. He came to Input from AT&T Government Solutions, where he served as senior counsel. Previously, Sisti was chief counsel to the General Services Administration Board of Contract Appeals, and was IT and procurement oversight counsel to the Senate Committee on Governmental Affairs.

While with the Senate, Sisti was lead staff member for the Federal Acquisition Streamlining Act and staffed oversight of major IT programs including Tax Systems Modernization and FTS2000. He also worked in the General Accounting Office, where he handled bid protests and counseled special investigations and audit staffs.

"This is a great opportunity to add the depth and breadth of Input's government market development services to the consulting environment," Sisti said.
