Florida school district taps Titan for IT outsourcing

Titan Corp. has won a 10-year, $70 million contract from Florida's Okaloosa County School District to provide infrastructure management services, the company announced today.

Under the contract, Titan of San Diego will provide the school district with information technology management outsourcing services, including desktop support, remote desktop management, asset management, and local and wide area network support and management.

The company also will provide a wide range of related technical support services, such as technology retrofits, Web site development and maintenance, and commercial off-the-shelf software applications.

Okaloosa County, which is located in the Florida panhandle, encompasses 43 sites and includes about 34,000 students, faculty and administrative personnel.

Titan is a provider of information and communications systems, solutions and services to the Department of Defense, intelligence agencies and other government customers. The company has about 11,000 employees and annual sales of about $1.9 billion. The company was ranked No. 15 on Washington Technology's Top 100, which ranks companies by federal prime contracting revenue. A sale of the company to Lockheed Martin Corp. is pending.
