SI International lands AF Space Command order

SI International Inc. has won a task order to support command and control modernization engineering and technical services to the North American Aerospace Defense Command, United States Strategic Command and Air Force Space Command.

The company will define, develop, field, test and sustain the next-generation Combatant Commander's Integrated Command and Control System, or CCIC2S.

The task order, awarded under the Millennia Lite contract, is for 14 months with one option year. It is potentially worth $11 million over 26 months.

"CCIC2S has been characterized as the solution of choice for operational [command and control] of the counterspace and force enhancement missions, and the foundation upon which to eliminate [command and control] stovepipes," said Ray Oleson, chairman and chief executive officer of SI International.

Based in Reston, Va., SI International ranked No. 83 on the 2003 Washington Technology Top 100 list. The company, which went public in 2002, reported revenue that year of $149.4 million, according to Hoover's Online.
