NASA picks Barrios for space station integration project

Barrios Technology Inc., Houston, won a $145.1 million for mission integration services from NASA to support the International Space Station, the company said Wednesday.

The contract is for four years and nine months with two one-year options. Barrios will provide products and services that support mission planning, integration and operations, international partner integration and Russian language and logistics services.

Tech Trans International Inc., also of Houston, is a major subcontractor. Work will be performed at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, the Kennedy Space Center in Florida and other locations within and outside the United States.

Barrios is a woman-owned small business, founded in 1980 to provide engineering services to the NASA space shuttle program. The company has annual revenue of about $25 million.
