Los Angeles County re-ups ACS for child support services

Affiliated Computer Services Inc. has won a three-year, $21 million contract extension from Los Angeles County to operate the county's centralized disbursement unit for child support payments, the company announced today.

Under the contract extension, ACS of Dallas will provide child support receipt processing services and project management for payment processing, employer relations, balance and reconciliation, information technology and mail opening services.

This is the fourth successive contract extension for ACS. The company has held the contract for 12 years and has processed more than 20 million payments, distributing more than $3.7 million in child support payments.

The county's caseload represents about 25 percent of California's total caseload, the company said.

ACS, a provider of business process and IT outsourcing solutions to commercial and government clients, has more than 40,000 employees and annual sales of $3.7 billion.
