AID switches vendor on $320 million contract

The Agency for International Development yesterday hired SRA International Inc. of Fairfax, Va., to replace Computer Sciences Corp. as the holder of a $320 million, six-year task order for IT infrastructure.

Stuart Davis, director of investor relations at SRA, confirmed that the company received the Principal Resource for Information Management Enterprise Wide contract, awarded under the General Services Administration's Millennia governmentwide acquisition contract.

Lockheed Martin Corp. and Unisys Corp. also bid for the task order, CSC spokesman Jamie Sullivan said.

"We were the incumbents since 1998," Sullivan said. "The [proposal request] was issued Sept. 2, responses were due Sept. 30 and the award was made Nov. 10."

The prime contract covers AID's program to manage, modernize and maintain its IT infrastructure, according to Input of Reston, Va., a market research firm. "The purpose of the PRIME task order is to consolidate current operations and implement a comprehensive approach to the acquisition, integration, total lifecycle management and operation of USAID's IT resources," according to Input.
