Amsec buys Eagan, McAllister Associates
Amsec LLC will acquire Eagan, McAllister Associates Inc., a military IT and engineering services company.
Amsec LLC, Virginia Beach, Va., will acquire Eagan, McAllister Associates Inc., Lexington Park Md., Amsec announced Oct. 16. Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The transaction is expected to close in November.
Founded in 1984, EMA provides information technology and engineering services for military clients. It focuses on aviation and command, control, communications, computers and intelligence programs. The company employs 1,000 people and reported $110 million of revenue for fiscal 2002. The company was ranked no. 77 on Washington Technology's Top 100 list.
In August, EMA announced two significant contract wins. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command awarded the company a contract worth up to $48 million to provide engineering and technical support to the command's Charleston Systems Center and other locations. It also won a spot on the Marine Corp's $3 billion Commercial Enterprise Omnibus support service program.
A service supplier to the military and commercial maritime industry, Amsec is a partnership between the Newport News, Va., division of Northrop Grumman Corp. of Los Angeles, and Science Applications International Corp. of San Diego. The company was formed independently but was purchased by SAIC in 1987. It was recast as a limited liability corporation in 1999, as a business partnership between SAIC and Newport News Shipbuilding.
With more than 3,000 employees, Amsec offers such services as engineering, program development system assessments and logistics services.
