Cap Gemini wins $7.6 million Army deal

Cap Gemini Ernst & Young SA, Paris, has won a task order worth $7.6 million to develop an IT integration framework for the Army, the company announced Thursday. The company's government solutions unit will do the work.

Under the task order, which runs for one year and has two one-year options, CGEY will build a framework that will incorporate enterprise business systems, including finance, operations, accounting and financial management, human resources management, acquisition and procurement, logistics, property and environmental liabilities, programming and budgeting and funds control.

The Army's Enterprise Integration Oversight Office awarded the contract.

Formerly focused on the commercial market, Cap Gemini has increasingly been pursuing government contracts. In July 2002, the company won a listing on the General Services Administration's schedule for IT services.
