Micro Warehouse wins $40 million DLA deal

The government subsidiary of Micro Warehouse Inc., Norwalk, Conn., won a blanket purchase agreement worth up to $40 million from the Defense Logistics Agency, the company announced today.

Under the two-year agreement, Micro Warehouse Gov/Ed Inc., headquartered in Reston, Va., will sell hardware, software and services to DLA, as well as to other Defense Department agencies.

"This agreement provides us with increased flexibility in helping the Department of Defense address its technology needs ? Micro Warehouse Gov/Ed looks forward to working closely with DLA in this expanded capacity," said Jerome York, chairman and chief executive officer of Micro Warehouse.

Micro Warehouse Gov/Ed Inc. was launched October 2002 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Micro Warehouse Inc. With annual sales at about $400 million, the subsidiary expects to reach $1 billion in annual sales by 2005.

Micro Warehouse Inc. reported $2 billion in sales for 2002, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
