SI International Inc. has won a five-year, $10.7 million contract to maintain the Department of Agriculture's cargo tracking system.
SI International Inc., McLean, Va. won a five-year, $10.7 million contract to maintain the Department of Agriculture's cargo tracking system, the company announced May 22.
Under terms of the contract, SI will support the agency's Web-based automated targeting system, which the agency's inspections office runs. This system gets information from the U.S. Customs Service's automated cargo tracking system, allowing the agency to view lists of the contents of cargo shipments coming into the country from sea ports, airports and land borders.
"Our experiences in areas related to border security, information security, data sharing, systems integration and training will prove to be very valuable in successfully executing this program," said Ray Oleson, SI chairman and chief executive officer.
