RCI buys Innerbase Technologies

Professional services firm Resource Consultants Inc. of Vienna, Va., acquired Innerbase Technologies Inc. of Fairfax, Va., a provider of information technology services to federal agencies.

Innerbase is a privately held company with annual revenue of about $6 million and 40 employees. The company specializes in Oracle-based database systems and provides software applications and Web development services.

Terms of the deal, which was completed in March, were not disclosed.

"I believe that now is the time for Innerbase to become part of a larger IT organization that will grow in the federal market and offer enhanced career opportunities to our staff. I will work with RCI in developing new business opportunities," said Ken Arthur, Innerbase's chief executive officer.

RCI officials said Innerbase's offerings complement the company's IT services and broaden its presence in the federal market by adding new customers, including the Pension Benefit Guaranty Corp. and the departments of Agriculture and Health and Human Services.

RCI will integrate Innerbase into its information technology division.

RCI provides systems engineering, IT, enterprise management and business process re-engineering services. Its clients include the U.S. Postal Service, Department of Defense, federal civilian agencies, state and local governments and commercial firms.

RCI officials said they expect fiscal 2003 revenue of $278 million. The company employs more than 3,100 people in more than 100 locations throughout the United States, Europe and Asia.
