PEC Solutions Inc. won a 16-month, $4.2 million contract from the Milwaukee Fire Department to build an integrated public safety system, the company announced today.
Under the contract, PEC of Fairfax, Va., will install the company's public safety software solution, which includes computer-aided dispatch, records management capabilities, case management information and training and inspection procedures.
The solution is designed to improve interagency communications, enhance city mapping services and provide a better interface with the city's 911 system, the company said.
The system also includes a field reporting capability that will allow fire fighters and emergency medical service personnel to communicate status reports and key information in real-time through laptop computers.
The new system, once it is installed, will enable the Milwaukee Fire Department to meet important federal and state reporting requirements, said Darrell Moore, Milwaukee's deputy fire chief.
PEC Solutions is a professional services firm specializing in interoperable technologies for law enforcement, intelligence, defense and civilian agencies for government.
The company has about 1,340 employees and had sales of $182.2 million in fiscal 2002, according to Hoover's Online of Austin, Texas.
