Eight companies have won spots on the Army Forces Command's $650 million Operations, Planning, Training and Resource Support Services contract.
Competing against each other on the task order contract are Anteon International Corp., CACI International Inc., Science Applications International Corp., Eagle Group International Inc., ICI Solutions, TRW Inc., Booz Allen Hamilton Inc. and Computer Sciences Corp. TRW is now part of Northrop Grumman Corp.
In announcing that it won the contract, CACI estimated it would be worth $100 million over five years to the Arlington, Va.-based company.
The Army Forces Command, also known as FORSCOM, is headquartered at Fort McPherson, Ga., and is the Army's largest major command. It trains, mobilizes and deploys combat-ready forces worldwide.
The contractors will assist the Army in providing services and support throughout the United States in 12 major task areas, including project management services to help run Army installations and combat training centers, planning and execution of troop mobilization, training services for everything from databases to weapon systems and anti-terrorist assessments and force protection training for Army installations.
CACI officials said the contract would allow them to expand their business with the Army on tasks ranging from project management support and training to information technology and homeland security.
CACI supports command headquarters at Fort McPherson and has personnel located at Fort Hood, Texas, and Fort Lewis, Wash., where thousands of FORSCOM personnel are located.
