RSIS nets Space Warfare Center systems engineering

RS Information Systems Inc. won a contract to provide systems management and engineering services to the Space Warfare Center of the Air Force Space Command, the company said Jan. 24.

The one-year contract has seven one-year options and is potentially worth $88 million, the McLean, Va.-based company said. The work will be carried out at Schriever Air Force Base near Colorado Springs, Colo.

RSIS will work with 16 subcontractors on the project, company officials said. Under the contract, RSIS will provide engineering and systems expertise for the integration of advanced weapons platforms and special test facilities.

The contract also calls for technical expertise for emerging technologies and systems in intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance.

The mission of the Air Force Space Command and its Space Warfare Center is to protect national security, safeguard space assets and ensure reliable access to space.

RSIS also provides system engineering and other technical support to Air Force bases located in Alabama, Colorado, Hawaii and Ohio.

RSIS provides advanced technical and business solutions in information technology, science, engineering and management consulting to a wide range of government and commercial clients.

The privately held, minority-owned company has 1,300 employees and had annual revenue of $140 million in fiscal 2001.
