Madison Research Wins $62M Supercomputer Deal

Madison Research Corp., Huntsville, Ala., been selected by the Department of Defense's Ballistic Missile Defense Organization to support its Huntsville supercomputing center, the company announced Dec. 17. The six-year contract is valued at more than $62 million.

The computer facility supports high-performance computing tasks for the Ballistic Missile Defense Organization, the Defense Department agency that oversees the National Missile Defense and Theater Missile Defense development programs. The center also supports the Army's Space and Missile Defense Command and other government agency programs.

The center is performing work in simulation of missile defense scenarios, computational fluid dynamics and forces modeling.

Madison Research has been supporting the center since 1995. This contract expands operational duties to include analysis, engineering and design, migration conversion and integration tasks.

Founded in 1986, Madison Research specializes in providing engineering and information technology services to federal agencies. The company employs approximately 650 people.
