Northrop Grumman Gets Justice Security Deal

Northrop Grumman Corp., Los Angeles, has been awarded a task order worth up to $4 million to strengthen information security for a Justice Department booking system, the company announced Oct. 8.

The five-year program includes one base year and four one-year options. It will be executed by Northrop Grumman's information technology sector.

For this task order, Northrop Grumman will support the information security activities of the Joint Automated Booking System program, an information-sharing initiative among the Justice Department's five law enforcement components.

Duties include developing system security policies, technical security requirements, security requirement traceability matrices, system security plans, risk assessments, contingency plans, security guides, a system test and evaluation plans.
"Northrop Grumman brings significant experience to this task order, including authoring certification and accreditation policy, managing the certification process and completing certification products all resulting in successful system accreditation," said Anthony Cascio, Northrop Grumman IT program manager.

This departmental booking system shares information among the Bureau of Prisons, Drug Enforcement Administration, FBI, the Immigration & Naturalization Service and the U.S. Marshals Service. Through an offender data repository, it eliminates repetitive booking of offenders, standardizes federal data and enables cross-agency sharing of information.

It also allows agencies to electronically transmit biometric data to the FBI's Integrated Automated Fingerprint Identification System.
