Anteon has been awarded a contract by the U.S. Geological Survey to provide professional and technical services for the Biological Resources Division Western Regional Office, which includes Alaska, Hawaii, Guam, Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Utah, and Arizona.

The estimated value for the five-year (one-year base plus four option years) contract is $19 million. Anteon will provide support services in a number of areas, including administration and management, biological research, information management, mapping, database development and management, computer system administration, geographic information systems, remote sensing and image processing.Computer Sciences has won an eight-year, $107.5 million contract to support the global network of the State Department's Diplomatic Telecommunications Service Program Office.

The General Services Administration's Federal Technology Service awarded the task order to CSC on behalf of the State Department through FTS' Federal Systems Integration and Management Center, using the Millennia systems integration contract. CSC will provide technical and management support for the telecommunications service program, including customer service, systems engineering, financial management, overseas field support and training.

The project will provide communications support for 47 government agencies in 240 locations worldwide and make sure communications systems are working in the event of an emergency.KPMG Consulting paid $28.9 million for KPMG International's consulting unit in Australia. The McLean, Va.-based consulting firm, which went public in February, said the Australian unit acquisition will expand the company's presence in the Asia Pacific region.

KPMG Consulting now has market rights in Japan, Korea, New Zealand, Southeast Asia and parts of China. The company now has full access to Australia.

KPMG Consulting did not disclose any details of the deal other than the cash purchase price.
