The Navy has awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract for technical and software engineering services to Science Applications International Corp. and Titan Corp. to support satellite communications systems improvements.

The Navy has awarded an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract for technical and software engineering services to Science Applications International Corp. and the Titan Corp., both of San Diego, to support satellite communications systems improvements.


The two companies will compete with each other for task orders under the contract.


The work is primarily to support development of the Automated Communication Management System, a management planning tool for satellite communications systems.

There also will be hardware and software engineering design and development for satellite communications systems, configuration and data management and field support for the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command's Systems Center, San Diego Communication Management Branch.


SAIC's contract is worth up to $145 million over five years if all options are exercised, while Titan's contract is worth up to $127 million over the same period.
