Internal collaboration makes over government

Federal Computer Week presents the Office of Management and Budget’s Emily Fort, project lead for the Budget Formulation and Execution Line of Business’s MAX Federal Community, in this recent eSeminar, where she discusses how internal collaboration tools are transforming the federal government.

As the Obama administration continues to make strides in opening government to public debate, the hidden headline in Web 2.0 may be how agencies are opening their processes and transforming their missions through internal collaboration. Whether through the intelligence community’s Intellipedia or NASA’s SpaceBook, many agencies have silently embraced collaboration tools to advance their program missions.

During the eSeminar, attendees learn:

  • About the MAX Federal Community, an online wiki that enables multi-agency collaboration, information-sharing and knowledge management;
  • How agencies can enable information-sharing and debate in a secure environment;
  • The best ways to ensure information-quality and accountability in an open forum;
  • How interagency working-groups can use collaborative technologies to not only share, but create meaningful content;
  • Knowledge-management implications for federal agencies; and
  • About the next-generation collaborative environment.

John Stein Monroe, FCW editor-at-large, moderates the eSeminar.

All 1105 Government Information Group eSeminars are free of charge.
