  • Understanding ARRA: An Economic Stimulus Update Webcast

The crunch to compete, evaluate and award funding associated with the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) of 2009 is creating enormous challenges. Because so much of the $787 billion economic stimulus package will be dispersed in the next 18 months, this Webcast will reveal key implications for federal, state and local government organizations – each of whom must somehow appropriate funding, while providing transparency on spending and allocating monies that will ultimately improve operations and deliver more services. Industry observers claim more than $100 billion will go toward technological advances related to expanding broadband networks and services, building a nationwide electrical ‘smartgrid’ along with related green technologies, and optimizing healthcare IT. Up first, however, are ongoing efforts to support federal IT modernization, including data center improvements for the State Department, Social Security Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs and others.
