    9 win $675M contract for acquisition support

    Nine small businesses have won a $675.1 million task order contract with the Air Force to provide acquisition support advisory and assistance services to Air Force Life Cycle Management Center’s PEO-directorates and functional support offices

    The winners are:

    • Oasis Systems LLC.
    • Odyssey Systems Consulting Group Ltd.
    • Business Technologies and Solutions Inc. 
    • ADNET Systems Inc.
    • Baum Romstedt Technology Research Corp.
    • P3I Inc.
    • Array Information Technology Inc.
    • Quantech Services Inc.
    • Gemini Industries Inc.
    The contract contains cost-plus-fixed-fee, firm-fixed-price and cost reimbursable contract line item numbers, the Defense Department said in a release.

    Work is to be performed mainly at Hanscom Air Force Base, Mass.

    DynCorp International has won a $48.6 million task order with the State Department to support the U.S. contingent to U.N. Police in Haiti.

    The task order has a one-year base and three option years.

    This task order was awarded by the State Department Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs under the Criminal Justice Program Support Contract. Read More

    A consortium of technology giants: Cisco Systems, IBM, Citrix, Juniper Networks, VMWare, Microsoft, Red Hat, Intel, Brocade, Big Switch Networks and Arista Networks are teaming to invigorate software-defined networking.

    Known as SDN, software-defined networks should reduce the amount of networking gear needed in data centers by using software that is centralized on the servers.

    Northrop Grumman has won a $80 million contract with the U.S. Navy to upgrade its tactical data link processor.

    Under the contract, the company will provide software and hardware system development, engineering services and technology refresh field change kits for the communication processors aboard naval surface ships, the company said in a release. Read More

    iGate Technologies has named Carl William Lucas associate vice president, where he will be responsible for contract execution and oversight to the company’s government customers across the United States.

    ITT Exelis to deliver advanced weather imager to South Korea

    ITT Exelis has won a multimillion dollar contract with South Korea to provide the country with an advanced geostationary weather imager to support the country’s forecasting capabilities.

    This contract is related to the GEO-KOMPSAT-2A program, under which Exelis will deliver an advanced metrological imager, to be launched into geostationary orbit in 2017, the company said. Read More

    BAE wins $20M Navy contract for mine detection sensor

    BAE Systems has won a $20 million contract with the U.S. Navy to provide a mine detection sensor prototype that detects mines and obstacles in near-shore waters.

    This contract is part of the Coastal Battlefield Reconnaissance and Analysis program, which uses BAE Systems’ approach to obtain resources in design, integration and testing. Read More
