Dynamics Research Corp. has won an option with the Veterans Affairs Department that extends the period of performance of a previously awarded contract through May 10, 2014.
The option was awarded under the Veterans Relationship Management Portfolio Monitoring and Coordination contract, which was awarded to DRC’s subsidiary, High Performance Technologies in May 2010.

Lockheed Martin and the U.S. Army have commissioned the first Defense Department grid-tied microgrid which integrates both renewable resources and energy storage.
The project was funded by the Defense Department’s Environmental Security Technology Certification Program, Lockheed said in a release.

Sotera Defense Solutions CEO John Hillen is stepping down as chief executive officer, and will serve in the new role of vice chairman of the company's advisory board. The company did not release information on why Hillen is stepping down as CEO.
As vice chairman, Hillen will continue to be involved in the strategic management of Sotera, and will represent the company's interests within key industry organizations, including his current term as the chairman of the Professional Services Council, the company said in a release.

BAE Systems has won a $37.8 million contract modification to provide engineering and technical services and supplies for full life cycle support of systems in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division.
Under the cost-plus-fixed-fee contract, BAE will provide services in support of communication-electronic platform, equipment, systems and subsystems in support of the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division’s Special Communications Requirements Division, the Defense Department said in a release.

Jacobs Technology Inc. has won a $14.4 million contract to provide the U.S. Air Force with engineering and technology acquisition support services.
Under the cost-plus-fixed-fee, cost-reimbursable contract, the company will provide engineering services and support, technical support, provisioning and logistics, modeling and simulation, configuration and data management, architectural support, test and evaluation, security engineering and certification, capability-based planning, commercial-off-the-shelf integration, integrated master plans and scheduling and technical reviews.

TRANSPORTATION
Serco Inc. and Virginia’s Transportation Department have completed final negotiations on a $355 million contract under which Serco will integrate and operate the department’s transportation operation centers and manage its Safety Service Patrol.
The company will also develop and implement a statewide advanced traffic management system.
Serco announced the potential contract last week, but at the time, final negotiations had yet to be completed.
