    CACI wins $9.7M modification for program management, engineering services

    CACI-CMS Information Systems has won a $9.7 million contract modification to provide program management and engineering services in support of Defense Department biometric programs.

    This modification is to a previously awarded firm-fixed-price contract, and brings the total value of the contract to $43.4 million.

    Work is to be performed in Alexandria, Va.

    Funds were obligated at the time of the award, but no word on whether they will expire at the end of fiscal 2013.

    No competition for private intell cloud contract

    The Defense Information Systems Agency has awarded a $45 million contract to Alliance Technology Group for private cloud services for an intelligence agency without conducting a competition.

    In itsjustification document for the no-compete procurement, DISA describes a need for an ISR – intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance – cloud for large data object storage and that Alliance Technology, a small business in Hanover, Md., is the only company capable of meeting the requirements.

    Bjorklund hangs up consulting shingle

    Ray Bjorklund, the budget data guru of FedSources and Deltek, is now his own guru.

    Bjorklund’s last day at Deltek was Monday, and today he announced the launch of BirchGrove Consulting.

    His plan, he said, is to provide data analysis for individual clients.

    “Companies really need hard numbers today to justify their positions in the market,” Bjorklund said. “The market is going sideways, so they need hard numbers to make good business decisions.”

    SAIC scores $74M Navy security engineering services contract

    Science Applications International Corp. has won a three-year, $74 million contract with the U.S. Naval Facilities Engineering Command to provide security engineering services in support of its anti-terrorism program.

    The Anti-terrorism/Force Protection Ashore Global Sustainment Program provides a centrally managed life-cycle sustainment program to help Navy shore installations maintain their systems and equipment in accordance with operational requirements, SAIC said in a release.

    Of the contract, John Thomas, SAIC senior vice president and group general manager, said that "It is a significant milestone in expanding our AT/FP services and capabilities for the DoD worldwide."
