    GD takes on F-18 advanced computer work

    General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has won a $19.3 million contract with the U.S. Navy to provide the F/A-18 aircraft with advanced mission computers.

    The company has been delivering these types of computers since 2002.

    These Type 3 advanced mission computers will be used on the F/A-18E/F and E/A-18G Super Hornet aircraft, General Dynamics said.

    Northrop Grumman takes on $71M contract for unmanned helicopter

    Northrop Grumman has won a $71 million contract with the U.S. Navy to produce six Fire Scout unmanned helicopters, adding onto the 14 that the company is already under contract to produce and deploy in 2014.

    Ultimately, the Navy plans to purchase a total of 30 aircraft under a rapid development effort, the company said in a release.

    Northrop wins $58M DISA modernization job

    Northrop Grumman Corp. has won a $58 million task order to modernize and sustain the Defense Department’s joint command and control system.

    The task order was awarded under the Defense Information System Agency’s $211 million Global Command and Control System-Joint engineering support services contract, which has a period of performance of 54 months.

    DCAA audits are the bane of many contractors existence because they are seen as nitpicking and slow. It takes years for some audits to be closed. One executive told me that he has audits just now being closed from 2007.

    The Homeland Security Department has awarded seven more contracts under its $22 billion Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge Solutions II contract vehicle, or EAGLE II.

    The department had already awarded six contracts back in the beginning of December. The contracts have a five-year base and two option years.

    SRA International has won a five-year, $29 million contract to develop information technology-related capabilities for four of the Air Forces logistics centers.

    The air logistics centers are located at Robins Air Force Base, Hill Air Force Base, Tinker Air Force Base and the Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group.
