    L-3 Communications Corp. has won a $53 million task order contract with the U.S. Navy for logistics services in support of the TH-57 aircraft fleet.

    Under the contract, the company will provide repair and/or overhaul services of aircraft, engines and related components, the Defense Department said.

    Northrop wins $26M contract to update Airbus planes with infrared system

    Northrop Grumman has won a $26 million contract with the U.S. Air Force to modify and install two Airbus aircraft with the Large Infrared Countermeasures system.

    This will include hardware, support equipment and services, the Defense Department said in a release.

    The model of aircraft is the Airbus A319CJ Head of State.

    Work will be performed in Rolling Meadows, Ill., and is expected to be completed by March 31, 2016.

    The contract was sole sourced to Northrop Grumman.

    Exelis wins $435M contract to support NASA's Deep Space Network

    Exelis has won a $435 million contract with the Jet Propulsion Laboratory to provide NASA’s international Deep Space Network with maintenance, operations and engineering services.

    The company will support an international network of communications complexes that supports interplanetary robotic spacecraft missions performing radio, radar and astronomy observations for the exploration of the solar system and the universe, ITT Exelis said in a release.

    Northrop wins $15.3M software upgrade of Triton UAV

    Northrop Grumman has won a $15.3 million contract modification with the U.S. Navy to support the systems development and demonstration of the MQ-4C Triton Unmanned Aircraft System.

    The MQ-4C Triton is used for maritime surveillance, and is developed under the Broad Area Maritime Surveillance program. It is intended to complement the Boeing P-8 Poseidon aircraft.

    The Defense Information Systems Agency is going to re-open the competition on a sole-source contract for big data storage, according to GCN.

    The contract calls for develoing a large data object cloud service that can store image files generated by defense intelligence sensors and systems

    The agency said that it would cancel the $45 million contract it made in April to Alliance Technology Group.

    SRA International has named David Keffer corporate controller, where he will lead the company’s financial reporting, treasury and cash management, accounting systems and financial planning and analysis.

    As corporate controller, Keffer will also drive organizational efficiency through process improvement, and manage SRA’s accounting operations to make sure they are compliant with policies and controls, the company said in a release.

    29 companies win $855M Marine Corps logistics contract

    Twenty-nine companies have won an $854.6 million task order contact with the U.S. Navy to provide the Marine Corps with logistics support services.

    This contract was awarded as part of the Marine Corps Logistics Support Services Contracts Program, and is comprised of three suites, the Defense Department said.
