General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has won a $15 million contract modification with the U.S. Navy for nine high-gain, high sensitivity systems in support of the Surface Electronic Warfare Improvement Program, or SEWIP.
Specifically, these systems will be in support of the SEWIP Block 1B3 low-rate initial production requirements. SEWIP is an acquisition program to upgrade the existing AN/SLQ-32(V) Electronic Warfare System.

The news last week that IBM Corp. had filed a protest against the awarding of a $600 million CIA contract to Amazon Web Services is the strongest indication yet that Amazon wants to sell more than just a cloud computing service to government agencies.
According to FCW’s Frank Konkel, the CIA's desire for a large private cloud is being pushed by the intelligence agency’s rush to embrace big data analytics. The CIA wants to collect massive amounts of information from diverse sources such as sensors, drones, social media, etc.

IBM Corp. is taking on Amazon Web Services over a $600 million contract Amazon won with the CIA to provide cloud services.
Big Blue filed a protest in February and has made three supplemental filings with the Government Accountability Office since them. The protest are delaying AWS' plans to build the intelligence agency a private cloud infrastructure, the full scope of which is yet unknown.

The SI Organization has named Mac Curtis president and CEO, effective July 1. He succeeds Bill Graham, who has served in these roles since 2003.
Graham will serve as vice chairman going forward, the company said.
“As the SI begins its next chapter of growth, I felt it was a good time to step back, and I am excited about the depth of relevant expertise that Mac brings to the SI,” Graham said.

Concurrent Technologies Corp. has won a $15 million increase to a contract it held with the U.S. Air Force Research Laboratory for energy and environment.
The original contract was awarded back in June 2009, and had a ceiling of $98 million. With the increase, the contract is now valued at $113 million.

Science Applications International Corp. has won a five-year $102 million contract with Orange County, Calif., to provide information technology managed services and solutions to agencies and departments within the county.
The firm-fixed-price contract has a base of $74 million and contains two option years.
