MTSI scores space situational awareness contract

Modern Technology Solutions Inc. has won a Phase III Small Business Innovation Research contract with the Air Force to continue developing a system that could improve space situational assessments.

Modern Technology Solutions Inc. has won a Phase III Small Business Innovation Research contract with the Air Force to continue developing a system that could improve space situational assessments.

The system MTSI has been working on relates to acquisition and fusion of data. The company has been working on system architecture, system administration, and software engineering solutions. The value of this Phase III contract is $11.1 million.

MTSI is working on solutions to deliver real-time, data-driven architecture for developing and integration space situation awareness.The system will work to tap into intelligence community data sources for use in algorithms, machine learning tools and data fusion technologies. The primary customer is the Air Force Space Command.

MTSI is using existing applications and developing new applications that will be integrated into a next-generation infrastructure that the Space and Missile Systems Center and the Air Force Research Laboratory are developing.

The contract runs through January 2025.
