Defense opportunities take center stage

Join us for our Defense Opportunities 2015 and Beyond breakfast briefing this week. And if you can't be there in person, send us a question for our panel of experts.

We’ve got everything lined up and ready to go for our breakfast briefing Thursday on Defense Opportunities 2015 and Beyond.

Our panelists are Kevin Plexico of Deltek, Trey Hodgkins of the Information Technology Industry Council and Duane Andrews, former CEO of QinetiQ North America and former assistant secretary of Defense.

I’m excited to have all the panelists on board, but especially Andrews. He’s one of those unique individuals who had a stellar government career followed by an equally stellar private sector career.

The format is Q&A, so don’t expect any formal presentations. Plexico will go over some of the important upcoming opportunities and budget trends. Hodgkins will give us the policy view and probably an early take on the 2015 mid-term election results.

Andrews will bring his CEO eye to the issues and share some of his management insights.

Some of the questions I plan posing to the group include:

How do you balance long-term planning and short term needs in an era of continuing resolutions, sequestration and budget brinkmanship?

Are defense customers moving beyond LPTA?

How should companies respond to the customer’s push for cost-efficiency?

What part of your business do you need to make sure is in tip-top shape?

How are small business requirements impacting the defense market?

Is there an opportunity for the average contractor to follow the large defense players into international markets?

What’s the right mix between civil work and defense work in today’s market?

The briefing also will allow for ample opportunity for questions from the audience. So, when you come, plan to participate.

The event is free to WT Insiders. Click here for more info on becoming an Insider. For non-members, there is a $59.

If you decide you can’t come, please shoot me an email with any questions you think we should be addressing.
