Who closed fiscal 2015 with the biggest contract awards?

As expected, the ninth month of 2015 saw a flurry of contracts as September closed out the government fiscal year.

Washington Technology covered 71 awards during September, compared to 55 in August.

This September’s 71 contract awards number is considerably greater than September 2014’s 58 awards, continuing a trend that began two months ago with 2015’s monthly contract awards surpassing the same month’s total a year earlier.

Before July 2015, each month of 2015 saw fewer awards when to its 2014 counterpart.

Some huge contracts were awarded this month. To make the top 10 list in September, you had to have won a contract worth more than $180 million.

Multiple award contracts took up two spots this month, and September was a particularly good month for Raytheon, who holds two spots on the Top 10.

10. Raytheon wins $180M contract to support Air Force combat program

Raytheon has won a $180 million sole source contract to provide the Air Force with program support and annual sustainment.

9. HP captures $225M Education Department data center contract

Hewlett-Packard Co. came away the victor in a competition for the Next Generation Data Center contract with the Education Department's Federal Student Aid office.

8. General Dynamics wins $321.M option to continue nuclear sub support

General Dynamics has won a $321.7 million option with the Navy to provide technical support for active nuclear submarines.

7. Harris nets $390M contract to deliver tactical radios

Harris Corp. has won a $390 million contract to provide the U.S. Special Operations Forces with specialized handheld tactical radios.

6. GDIT scores $450M contract to support USAF Central Command

General Dynamics Information Technology has won a $450 million contract with the Defense Information Systems Agency to support the U.S. Air Force’s Central Command and its requirements.

5. Raytheon scores $461M contract to support weapon system

Raytheon has won a $461.7 million contract with the Navy to support the MK15 Close-In Weapon System (CIWS).

4. Four win spots on $750M ISR contract

Four companies have landed spots on a $750 million contract to support the U.S. Special Operations Command.
