BAE Systems awarded $48.7M option for weapon system support

BAE Systems had won a $48.7 million option to provide the Air Force with integration support in support of the Minuteman III weapon system.

BAE Systems had won a $48.7 million option to provide the Air Force with integration support in support of the Minuteman III weapon system.

The Minuteman III is a land-based intercontinental ballistic missile in service with the Air Force Global Strike Command.

Under the contract, the company will provide systems engineering, technical assistance support, training, and development in performing integration, sustaining engineering and program management support functions, the Defense Department said in a release.

Work will be performed at Hill Air Force Base, Utah, and is expected to be completed by July 2016.
