Obama nominates new GSA administrator

President Obama has nominated Denise Turner Roth to be the new administrator of the U.S. General Services Administration.

Roth was most recently acting administrator and deputy administrator, a role which she took on in 2014. Since then, she worked to eliminate the duplication of administrative services by consolidating the agency’s IT, HR, administrative and financial functions, GSA said in a release.

Before joining GSA, Roth served as city manager of Greensboro, N.C., where she helped make a number of management changes in the city, including reorganization of departments and divisions to promote efficiency and improve service delivery.

She began her career in public service in the office of Rep. Jim Moran (D-Va.). She later served as the public space manager of the District of Columbia Department of Transportation.
