SAIC wins $17.4M contract to support Army R&D, engineering center

SAIC has won a $17.4 million contract to provide systems and computer support for the Aviation and Missile Research, Development Engineering Center.

The U.S. Army Aviation and Missile Research, Development and Engineering Center is a primarily civilian organization that provides research, development, and engineering technology and services to support the Army aviation and missile platforms.

The Center is part of the Software Engineering Directorate, Army Research, Development and Engineering Command, the Defense Department said in a release.

This is a foreign military sales contract, and work under the contract will benefit Afghanistan, Australia, Bahrain, Central African Republic, Chad, Djibouti, Dominican Republic, Egypt, France, Republic of Georgia and Germany, the Defense Department said.

Work will be performed at Redstone Arsenal, Ala., and is expected to be completed Feb. 20, 2017.
