Navy seeks info on companies to update maritime C2 system

The Navy wants to expand the scope of its command and control functions supported by the Global Command and Control System-Maritime (GCCS-M).

According to a sources sought notice, the Maritime Tactical Command and Control (MTC2) system will seek to include planning, execution, monitoring and assessment in addition to those functions that the GCCS-M already performs.

The MTC2 system will build upon the Joint Command and Control Reference Architecture to maximize interoperability across joint and maritime forces, providing flexibility and scalability to meet C2 requirements, facilitate its own adoption, and leverage other C2 capabilities to meet the Navy’s requirements.

The system is intended to be able to scaled to support these functions from the Maritime Operations Center down to an individual ship or submarine, according to FedBizOpps.

The Navy released the RFI on March 31. Responses are due May 16.
