IT contractor tapped as Maryland secretary of HR

Subsystem Technologies founder and CEO Sam Malhotra will step away from his company to become the secretary of human resources for the state of Maryland.

Subsystem Technologies founder and CEO Sam Malhotra will step away from his company to become the secretary of human resources for the State of Maryland.

In his absence, the Subsystem executive team will continue to run the company, but will not replace him.

He will serve under the recently elected governor of Maryland, Larry Hogan.

Malhotra founded Subsystem Technologies in 1986. Its core competencies are advanced analytics, advanced engineering, cybersecurity, information technology and management consulting.

Malhotra is expected to return to his company after his tenure as secretary of human resources is complete.
