SPAWAR considers small biz to examine cyberspace ops

Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center has reached out to small businesses as it considers examining its cyberspace operations.

SPAWAR System Center Pacific plans an examination of the architecture, functionality, interface and interoperability of cyberspace operations’ systems, as well as its services and capabilities. SPAWAR wants to look over cyberspace operations at the tactical, operational and strategic levels.

Under a contract, the company would design networks and systems so SPAWAR can rapidly develop and implement new technologies and capabilities, which must evolve along with new of cyberattack techniques. The company also would need to develop capabilities to detect and identify multi-dimensional attacks of an adversary, including precursor activities.

In addition, the contractor would integrate sets of solutions to enable a holistic command and control capability. It also would serve as the independent validation and verification site for Defense Department certification of cyber tools, systems, and capabilities.

SPAWAR noted some work that currently exists, or can be anticipated during a contract, may last through fiscal 2025.

Cyberspace operations employ an integrated and synchronized approach for offensive, defensive, and Department of Defense Information Network (DODIN) operations. Missions encompass offensive cyberspace operations, defensive cyberspace operations, and DODIN Operations.

SPAWAR released a sources sought notice Feb. 12. Responses are due by Feb. 27.
