GDIT, SAIC win options to continue work in San Diego

General Dynamics Information Technology and SAIC have both won one-year options to continue providing a variety of professional, scientific and engineering services to the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific.

GDIT’s option is worth $13.9 million, and SAIC’s option is worth $12.2 million.

Solicited in May of 2011, the original contracts ($39.9 million for GDIT and $35 million for SAIC) were awarded to the companies in February 2012. GDIT and SAIC were the only bidders.

The contracts have one more option to go, which if awarded would bring the overall contracts to their ceilings of $68 million (GDIT) and $59.8 million (SAIC).

Under the options, the companies will continue to support information technology and other command, control, communications, computers and intelligence efforts.

Services will include technology insertion, software and systems engineering, modeling and simulation, systems integration testing, integrated logistics, according to the Defense Department.

Work will be performed in San Diego, Calif., and is expected to be completed Feb. 11, 2016.
