Special Ops Forces consider next contractor logistics support contract

The Special Operations Forces Support Activity program executive office is hosting two meetings in March for interested companies as it develops acquisition strategies for a follow-on contractor logistics support services contract.

PEO SOFSA is part of the U.S. Special Operations Command. It provides the SOF community with rapid, responsive, and cost effective global logistics support. It focuses on supply chain management and maintenance for SOF systems and equipment.

The current contractor logistics support services contract will end in 2017. These meetings, which would be held in Kentucky, will start the process for developing the follow-on contract for the services. The meetings will provide information to interested companies regarding the scope and magnitude of the Operational Support for Global Special Operations Forces requirement.

Companies must submit a list of attendees by Feb. 27. The tours of the facilities will be March 19 and 26. The two tours will cover the same information.

The potential solicitation would include three core competencies: streamlined design and rapid prototyping; production, modification, and integration; and lastly lifecycle sustainment activities.

Aviation repair, modification and research and development

Integrated warehouse/supply services

Small arms weapon support and training

Communications equipment and electronic repair

Ground and maritime platform repairs and modifications

Manufacturing and production

Logistics support teams

Lifecycle sustainment management services

Minor construction

Along with logistics, SOFSA wants facility management and security, and IT support of its Defense Department Non-secure Internet Protocol Router Network (NIPRNet). The system consists of 20 core enterprise applications supporting roughly 2,500 users at four physical locations.
