GD wins $13.3M support contract for satellite communications

General Dynamics C4 Systems has won a $13.3 million satellite support contract for the Army’s Mobile Unit Objective System software.

General Dynamics C4 Systems has won a $13.3 million contract to support the Army’s Mobile Unit Objective System (MUOS) software.

The MUOS system is a military satellite communication system that provides increased communications capabilities to newer, smaller terminals while still supporting interoperability with legacy terminals.

Under the contract, General Dynamics will support updated waveforms for handheld, manpack and small form fit devices. It will also support hardware and software, provide field support and personnel training.

Work will be performed in Scottsdale, Ariz., and is expected to be completed Dec. 31, 2015.
