In an effort to move to a services-based model and an intelligence community-wide IT architecture, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is merging its CIO and IT services functions, according to FCW.

The move will leverage the Intelligence Community Information Technology Enterprise, which is a project to deliver a common IT platform across the intelligence community that will soon include enterprise management and advanced cloud tools, FCW said.

The combined CIO and IT functions will be led by former deputy CIO Douglas McGovern, who currently leads the NGA’s research and development arm. Current CIO David White will move on to become a fellow to the new Intelligence and National Security Foundation, FCW reported.
