Who won December's biggest contracts?

Momentum picked up for contract awards in December, and the year ended with a solid 59 contracts that Washington Technology reported on.

November was a different story, when we reported on 31 contract awards.

To make the top 10 list in December, you had to have won a contract worth more than $113 million.

The month was especially good for Raytheon, who took up three spots on the list.

The top contract awards for December kicks off at number 10:

10. Leidos wins $113M contract to support NIH Electronic Research Administration

Leidos has won a $113 million contract with the National Institutes of Health to provide information technology services to the Electronic Research Administration (eRA).

9. Three win $180.5M contract to support Navy

Three companies won spots on a $180.5 million contract with the Navy to provide warfare and warfare support analyses and assessments, campaign analyses, mission-level analyses, modeling and simulation, and management and documentation support. The winners were:

• Whitney, Bradley & Brown Inc.
• SAIC
• Metron Inc.

8. Raytheon wins $270.5M contract to support Navy

This is the first of Raytheon's three wins on the top 10. Its Technical Services group won a $270.5 contract to provide the Navy with V-22 software support activity systems and software engineering, avionics integration and testing, software testing, avionics acquisition support, and SSA operations.

7. Eight win spots on $300M professional services contract

Eight companies will compete for task orders under a five-year, $300 million Washington Headquarters Services contract for professional services and executive-level mission support services.

The winners are:

6. Raytheon wins $344.3M command and control contract

Raytheon's second top 10 finish is worth $344.3 million and is a sole source contract to support the Air Force’s Command and Control Switching System (CCSS).

5. General Atomics wins $375.2M contract to support Air Force

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, doing business as GA-ASI, won a $375.2 million contract with the Air Force to provide contractor logistic support in support of the Predator (MQ1)/Reaper (MQ9) unmanned aerial systems.

4. World Wide Technology wins $427M contract to support DISA

World Wide Technology has won a $427 million contract with the Defense Information Systems Agency to provide enterprise services for specified operating environments.

3. Lockheed gains a pair of F-35 support contracts

Lockheed Martin has won a pair of contracts worth more than $500 million to support aspects of its F-35 fighter jet.

2. Nine win Air Force’s $800m USTRATCOM contract

The Air Force picked nine companies for its $800 million U.S. Strategic Command support and assistant service multiple award contract.

The contract is known as the USSTRATCOM Systems And Mission Support (USAMS) III advisory and assistance services contract and the winners are:

• The Garrett Group, Inc.
• Client/Server Software Solutions, Inc.
• Software Engineering Services
• Joint Strategic Solutions
• Alpha-Omega Change Engineering, Inc.

1. Raytheon adds new Patriot customer with $2.1B Qatar contract

Raytheon captured the top spot with its $2.4 billion contract to produce five Patriot Air and Missile Defense System units for use by Qatar.

The company will provide Patriot fire units with increased computing power and radar processing efficiency, improved man-machine interface and reduced life-cycle costs.
