Lockheed names new SVP for Washington Operations

Lockheed Martin has named Robert Rangel senior vice president for Washington Operations and corporate officer effective Jan. 1, 2015.

Lockheed Martin has named Robert Rangel senior vice president for Washington Operations and corporate officer effective Jan. 1, 2015.

He replaces Greg Dahlberg who has been named senior vice president for Strategic Enterprise Initiatives and who will retire in August 2015.

In his new role, Rangel will lead the company’s engagements with Congress, the Defense Department and other federal government offices and agencies within the Washington, D.C. region. He will also manage all state and local government relationships and chair the Lockheed Martin Employee PAC.

He currently is the vice president of Lockheed Martin Programs and Global Security Policy.

Before joining the company in 2011, Rangel served as special assistant to the secretary of defense and the deputy secretary of defense. He was also once staff director of the U.S. House of Representatives Armed Services Committee.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Kentucky.
