Boeing to continue support of space surveillance system under $12.9M contract

Boeing has won a $12.9 million contract with the Air Force to provide logistics support for the Space-Based Space Surveillance System.

The Space-Based Space Surveillance system is a grouping of satellites and support infrastructure that works to improve the Defense Department’s detection and tracking of space objects in orbit around the Earth.

Under the contract, Boeing will provide logistics support, special studies and local area network sustainment, according to the Defense Department.

Work will be performed at Seal Beach, Calif., and is expected to be completed by June 2015.
