Northrop wins $116M contract to upgrade targeting systems for military

Northrop Grumman has won a $116 million contract to upgrade targeting systems for the U.S. military.

Under the contract, Northrop Grumman will upgrade AN/AAQ-28(V) LITENING Advanced Targeting Systems and spares for the Air Force, Air Force Reserve, Air National Guard and Marine Corps, bringing all Air Force Block 1 pods to the G4 configuration, the company said in a release.

This will complete the Air Force’s transition to the latest version of the LITENING system, which is a multisensor system that enables pilots to detect, acquire, auto-track and identify targets for accurate delivery of both conventional and precision-guided weapons, Northrop said.
