InfoZen wins second shot at $212M TSA contract

InfoZen Inc. lost the first attempt to win a $212 million Transportation Security Administration contract but the second time appears to be the charm.

InfoZen was the incumbent on the TSA Transportation Threat Assessment and Credentialing Operations and Computing Environment contract, known as TTAC, but lost the competition to QinetiQ North America in July 2013.

The company filed a protest with the Government Accountability Office but later withdrew it apparently after convincing TSA to reconsider the award.

Now, TSA has awarded the contract to InfoZen. The company will support TTAC, which is a screening and credentialing system used for checking and verifying workers’ identities.

The company has received $79 million task order, the first under the new contract.

TSA announced the award Nov. 14.
