PricewaterhouseCoopers Public Sector Practice is one of four winners to win the 2014 Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award.

The other winners are:

  • Hill Country Memorial
  • St. David’s HealthCare
  • Elevations Credit Union

The award is the nation’s highest presidential honor for performance excellence through innovation, improvement, and visionary leadership, according to a National Institute of Standards and Technology release.

“The Baldrige Program is one of the key ways that the Commerce Department is helping to recognize U.S. organizations that strive to have world-class operations. Today’s honorees are the role models of innovation, sound management, employee and customer satisfaction, and results,” said U.S. Commerce secretary Penny Pritziker.

PwC and the other winners were selected from a pool of 22 applications and were judged on criteria like leadership, strategic planning, customer focus, measurement, analysis and knowledge management, workforce focus, operations focus and results, NIST said.

Established in 1987, the Baldrige award has been awarded 105 times to 99 organizations.
