Booz Allen closes health care deal

Booz Allen Hamilton has acquired the health care unit of Genova Technologies in a move that bolsters the company's health business.

Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Genova’s Baltimore, Md.-based health care unit will add its one facility and 40 employees to Booz Allen, bringing with it an understanding of CMS information systems and business practices.

The combination of Genova and Booz Allen’s health team enhances the company’s ability to support CMS and other health clients through health reform, Booz Allen said in a release.

Along with the capability match between the two companies, Booz Allen and Genova share a culture of innovation and client commitment, said Susan Penfield, Booz Allen executive vice president who oversees the firm’s health business.
