NATO needs upgraded, connected training program system

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization needs to improve its electronic Military Training and Exercise Programme (eMTEP).

The NATO Headquarters Supreme Allied Commander Transformation in Norfolk, Va., is seeking potential vendors to provide existing electronic software to support the planning and management of eMTEP. The software must be able to coordinate across NATO Command Structure, NATA Force Structure, and National Headquarters.

The current eMTEP system is still considered experimental. It does not match NATO’s necessary requirements for programming and planning. Furthermore, the system cannot be updated due to changes at the company that began work on eMTEP in 2007.

NATO needs flexible software to allow for rapid upgrades, a sustainable solution, and a developed system that links to the military exercise catalogue and planning via the Internet among various other systems.

NATO released the request for information Sept. 10. Responses are due by Oct. 10.
