Northrop tapped to continue support E-2D Advanced Hawkeye program under $32.5M contract

Northrop Grumman has won a $32.5 million contract to provide engineering services in support of the Navy’s E-2D Advanced Hawkeye program.

Northrop Grumman has won a $32.5 million contract to provide engineering services in support of the Navy’s E-2D Advanced Hawkeye program.

The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye is the Navy’s carrier-based Airborne Early Warning and Battle Management Command and Control aircraft.

First flown in 2007, the aircraft has advanced radar sensor and network-enabled capabilities, Northrop Grumman said on its website. The E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft provides warfighters with situational awareness.

The contract supports the full rate production Lot 2 E-2D Advanced Hawkeye aircraft, according to the Defense Department.

Work will take place at a number of locations within the United States, as well as in Aire Sur L’Adour, France, and is slated to wrap up around July 2017.
